About
About Me
I entered the print industry right out of high school and have spent almost the last decade working across multiple departments, roles, and companies. Starting in pre-press as a cart washer and working my way up to lead ink technician, I have been fortunate to experience multiple facets of the process and grow in my professional life. One thing I noticed was there were big players in the forefront of the industry to handle the foundational functions. Some locations have created their own internal tools for the secondary requirements. But there was almost no solution on the micro level, specifically roller and cylinder management.
Where it started
Enter Anitrac: the first in-depth inventory system for anilox and cylinders. Initially, this was created as a desktop app. After completion of this small test project, the idea began to grow. Concerns such as accounting for multiple presses, allowing access outside of the one device it was installed on, etc needed to be solved. The goal was to keep the same install method while opening the service up to an entire plant instead of just one computer. The Anitrac Server and Anitrac Client were short lived, but extremely pivotal point to get to where we are today.
Anitrac — Today
After a career switch, a lot of learning, and infrastructure planning; Anitrac has evolved into a web-based SaaS with the following core principles:
- Accessibility: Anitrac can be used on a desktop, tablet or phone.
- Cost: Software comes at a cost — infrastructure. Each tier is priced to provide the perfect balance of supporting the required infrastructure.
- Ownership: Anitrac also provides an option that is becoming increasingly rare: a perpetual license. Buy once, own forever via providing your own infrastructure.
- Production Focus: Using my experience of being on the production floor for close to a decade, Anitrac is being developed to cause as little friction as possible, no one wants more work to do.
Anitrac — Tomorrow and Beyond
This blog serves as a live update platform for Anitrac. The first milestone is to get out of beta with a full launch of features listed in the Entry tier. From there, continue on the feature roadmap for the Professional and Enterprise tiers. The future beyond here will depend on where the industry takes us.
